Wow! Stock Horse Program is growing in Germany!
This is great news! The basis of the Stock Horse Program is so important to the working livestock industry as the challenges of the everyday ranch/farming are becoming apparent to so many who are either small property owners( that would be many...seeing as a large farm/ranch is approx.30000 acres!)
This program contimues to offer working livestock owners an educational opportunity to grow in the fundamentals of stockmanship skills and ride a better horse. As we look to tomorrow and the realities of the world becoming smaller, this is a welcome opportinuty to growth of the stock horse program, as all good cowboys know in order to sustain a viable economic industry growth is the best when more interests join! Welcome Germany! Riverfare Farms "Get's It"!
With all the push to go regional and do you part locally, Riverfare has taken a big step in an effort to help our fellow farmers, ranchers and neighbors. On November 14, at noon we will be hosting an auction/sale of NH Livestock and Farm Related Products! Why do that? Its simple....Community, Growth and Sustainability for everyone. As everyone looks to our area for the lifestyle of country lets offer every opportunity for producers to showcase with pride their product, in turn time after time I have heard from buyers wanting to find farm fresh, home grown, small farmer goods and services yet they are not able to find them or the distance seems to long for travel or time , well here we are trying to bring that connection together on one day at one location- We are in hopes that everyone will share in the experience and have fun as this too is naturally a social event!
So how does the success of an opportunity like this get determined? Easy, With attendees asking "When will this happen again"! So we hope you'll join us! Bring your wares, livestock & products! See you there! Don't say I didnt mention it!
Dont say I didnt mention it!
Well I have over the last year been very attentive to watching what is really going to happen to our equine industry if or when the congressional vote comes for HR 503, and the status of Equine Professionals and Ranchers get hit with the reality of commercialism, of which will only be passed onto the customer; hope your ready! The general consences is..... that horses are/will become recreational or pets. So where will that leave the stable, boarding facility, lesson program, trainer, breeder & CLIENT? Taking on the cost- Ready for 1200.-1600. a month for board? That is what the taxes may cost in the long run for your commercial equine farm/ranch owner in order to operate. You wont be classified as we always have been as a production, food or fiber recognized commodity over time by USDA/FSIS; thats right your not an agricultural product. You'll be an agricultural consumer, for many of us this is going to create challenges! How do you feel? Horse Industry United
Can you imagine a United Horse Industry? As a professional that would be a dream come true and YES, it can happen. First let me define United: Every one of us that participate in the industry coming together in a unified way, finding common ground and working together for the good of the Horse. this is not the first time I have mentioned this, however now more than ever we need this. Let's see, what do we have already happening for us; we all feed hay, we all fill water tanks and place salt in a place for access to our animals, and FOR NOW....We are catagorized as Livestock; that's right momentarily, each and everyone of us horse owners are considered owners of livestock.
However, that may change, SOON. In that aspect Who do we become? What is our classification? these are valid and very interesting questions, Why?, because WHAT IF the HB 503/S727 are passed at the National level? |

WE SELL HAY!
